Worship Music - Here I Cry Out - Psalm 77

Steve Baney © 2006
Capo 3

Intro: Em D Em G D, Em D Em --

Am D Em Am D Em
Here I cry out Without holding back
Oh that my God Would hear me
Deep in my trouble I searched for the Lord
I feel so forgotten I'm pleading

Em G F# C Em G F# C
         I remember, I remember you
         I remember, I remember you

C D Em
      You are holy, holy
      You are mighty, mighty God

Hear It
If you haven't already, be sure to listen to the music.

Tips for playing the song
I don't play the F# as a bar chord. I walk from the G down to the Em like this: Starting from G, lift your middle finger, then place your index finger on the second fret of the low E string. Now you're playing an F#.

About the lyrics
Some people complain that Christians are fake, that they pretend life is pretty. Too often, these people are right. Do Christians really believe that their moral obligation is to pretend to be happy? This is the message of Psalm 77, the basis for the lyrics. Life can really stink at times. Don't pretend. The psalm-writers didn't.

Using This Song
If you'd like to use this song for personal or group worship, go for it. I wrote it as a expression of worship to our Lord. Please let me know if you decide to use this song. It will be a great encouragement to me!
